Knapp Elementary School

.

Keeping up with the tradition of excellence, Knapp Elementary School is constantly involved in the process of student improvement. Staff members work collaboratively to gather and analyze data to make decisions that result in excellent instruction to all our students. Building goals, with specific action plans, are developed each year based on student achievement data. During our WIN (What I Need) time each day, our students receive one-on-one or small group instruction in the content they need enrichment in or reteaching.

Our building is beginning its fifth year of implementing our Cardinal Pride Program (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to ensure all students know what positive behaviors are expected to be successful in and out of school. Data is collected and reviewed by our building team, and celebrations are planned for students throughout the year. Our monthly school-wide themes focus on the core values of our school district and the character traits to prepare our students to be life long learners, caring individuals and responsible citizens.

Our elementary teachers have been implementing the Daily 5 reading structure in their literacy classrooms and are focused on building strategic readers that love to read. Our school wide theme this year is centered around camping.  We are Camp Learn-A-Lot! Our building is decorated with the camp theme, and  our classrooms are all cabins with an animal mascot.  We are excited to be starting a new school year and are off to a great start!

I would like to welcome to all our new students joining the Knapp family this year!
